Kyiv Wheelchair Basketball Cup among Veterans: Successes and Achievements of Odesa-Basket
On June 20, 2024, the Kyiv Open Cup for wheelchair basketball veterans took place, bringing together teams from various Ukrainian cities, including the Titanovi, Kyiv Lions, and Odesa-Basket. The tournament was a significant event for the development of adaptive sports, offering veterans and people with disabilities an opportunity to showcase their athletic skill and resilience.
The Odesa-Basket team, led by experienced coach Vadym Pudzirei, demonstrated a high level of preparation and cohesion, competing in intense matches against strong opponents like the Kyiv Lions and the Tytanovi. The players of Odesa-Basket won the audience’s admiration and the respect of their rivals with their team spirit and dedication.
The event was organized with the support of the Pride of the Country Foundation, founded by Vasyl Rybak, who actively contributed to creating conditions for the tournament. Vasyl Rybak noted that such competitions promote veterans’ social integration and inspire people with disabilities to lead an active lifestyle.
The participants believe that these tournaments not only popularize sports but also help to form a strong and supportive community of veterans, for whom sports are a way to achieve new victories and overcome life’s challenges.
