Modern Rehabilitation Services in Odesa’s Medical Facilities
Odesa’s City Clinical Hospital No. 10 has established a state-of-the-art Department of Rehabilitation and Reconstructive Surgery dedicated to treating patients with various injuries and conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders, limb pathologies, cardiovascular and nervous system issues, as well as post-traumatic conditions.
The department is equipped with an operating block, patient rooms, and specialized medical rehabilitation facilities, all furnished with the latest medical and rehabilitation technologies. A multidisciplinary rehabilitation team works to provide comprehensive physical and psychological support to patients. When needed, specialists in reconstructive surgery and physical rehabilitation are involved in the direct restoration of the body's functions. Psychological rehabilitation is also a key component of the treatment, complemented by the use of biomedical engineering technologies.
City Clinical Hospital No. 10 collaborates closely with the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, and Physical Education at Odesa National Medical University. This partnership ensures that the hospital serves as a clinical base for training future rehabilitation specialists while also incorporating the latest treatment and rehabilitation techniques into medical practice.
“The academic specialists from the department provide organizational and methodological support, and the hospital serves as a clinical training base for future rehabilitation professionals in modern conditions. Together, we are implementing advanced treatment and rehabilitation techniques into medical practice and jointly developing new methods,” said Vasyl Rybak, head of the Department of Rehabilitation and Reconstructive Surgery at City Clinical Hospital No. 10.
Adaptive sports, such as wheelchair basketball and table tennis, are actively integrated into the rehabilitation program, thanks to the involvement of community and sports organizations that support people with disabilities. Engaging in sports and integrating into the sports community helps patients adapt to social life. Additionally, the Rehabilitation Center organizes meetings for patients with renowned athletes and cultural figures, further enriching their recovery experience.
