The first golf tournament among veterans, “Kyiv - Lviv - Odesa Cup” at GC KOZYN: a new page in the history of adaptive sports

On July 9, 2024, the first veterans' golf tournament, "Kyiv – Lviv – Odesa Cup," was held at the eco-recreational golf center GC KOZYN. The event brought together athletes and veterans from various Ukrainian cities, including representatives of the Odesa Golf Club and members of the Odesa-Basket team. The tournament became a unique initiative aimed at promoting golf among veterans and encouraging an active lifestyle.

The veterans of the Odesa-Basket team, known for their achievements in adaptive sports, decided to test their skills in golf this time. During the tournament, the participants showcased perseverance, sportsmanship, and a willingness to explore new horizons. The Odesa Golf Club, which supported its participants, played a crucial role in preparing them for the competition, helping them get acquainted with the sport.

A significant contribution to the tournament was made by the PRIDE OF THE COUNTRY Foundation, founded by Vasyl Rybak. Thanks to the foundation’s initiatives and financial support, it has made it possible for the Odesa Basketball team to move, stay, and participate in the tournament. Vasyl Rybak emphasized that such events are not only sporting competitions but also a means of social integration for veterans, inspiring them to achieve new heights.

GC KOZYN, one of Ukraine’s leading golf centers, provided unique facilities for the tournament, set amidst picturesque natural surroundings. Participants enjoyed the opportunity to play in a friendly atmosphere and engage in conversations with colleagues and like-minded individuals.

The first "Kyiv – Lviv – Odesa Cup" tournament marked a significant milestone, highlighting golf’s potential as part of adaptive sports. Participants and organizers are confident that this format will become a tradition, attracting even more veterans and athletes to golf. Thanks to the support of the PRIDE OF THE COUNTRY Foundation, the Odesa Golf Club, and GC KOZYN, the tournament was a celebration of resilience, unity, and sporting camaraderie.
